If you rely on DoorDash to bring your farm-to-couch take-out, or rely on the Lyft carpooling service for, well, elevators, your Chase card could come in very handy.
Chase has added benefits to some credit cards through partnerships with Lyft and DoorDash, and with them, higher annual fees if you have Chase Sapphire Reserve.
You will gain the most value if you have this card, but other cards will also see increased value. These include the Chase Sapphire Favorite Card; Chase Slate Credit Card; Pursue freedom; Pursuit of unlimited freedom; Freedom Chase Student; Ink Business Cash Credit Card; Ink Business Unlimited credit card; and Ink Business Preferred credit card.
What are the benefits of the new Chase card?
Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders can now access these benefits:
- One year free subscription to Lyft Pink. You’ll save 15% on Lyft rides, enjoy priority airport pickup, avoid cancellation fees, and get three free 30-minute bike or scooter rides per month. This benefit is worth over $ 239.
- More points for Lyft journeys. Earn 10 points per dollar on Lyft trips through March 2022 to redeem for cash back. In comparison, the Uber Visa Card offers 5% back in Uber Cash on Uber trips, among other benefits.
- DashPass free for at least one year of DoorDash food deliveries. The subscription program, which typically costs $ 9.99 per month, offers a lower service charge on orders with certain restaurants. Cardholders must activate the DashPass before December 31, 2021.
- DoorDash Credits. When you pay with Chase Sapphire Reserve, you can receive up to $ 60 in statement credits on DoorDash purchases in 2020 and $ 60 in additional credits in 2021.
Other Chase credit cards offer slightly different Lyft and DashPass benefits. Benefits include five points per dollar or 5% cash back on Lyft rides through March 2022 and a free DashPass for three months, followed by a 50% cashback for nine months.

Are the new benefits worth the price?
Whether you have Chase Sapphire Reserve or want to add it to your wallet, the higher annual fee could make the card less attractive. Think about your spending habits to see if the card could add value.
If you use Lyft and DoorDash often, your savings could more than outweigh the increased costs.
The rest of the Chase cards offer additional value with no cost change.
If you’re shopping for a credit card, the Chase line has an edge with these new benefits. Nonetheless, these are limited time perks and you will need to choose a card that can offer both short term and long term value.
