Join GMP to experience electric vehicles up close

Multiple Electric Vehicle Test Drive Events This Fall in Vermont, Get Your Questions Answered About Rebates, Programs and GMP Electric Driving

Vermont Business Magazine Green Mountain Power (GMP) invites customers to experience electric vehicles (EVs) up close at several events this fall. From Montpelier to Manchester, Bristol to Bennington, GMP partners with local energy committees and communities to provide events where customers can learn about electric driving from GMP customers and GMP experts. You can try several EV models in a no-pressure environment of answering questions and sharing the benefits of driving an EV.

“These are great events because customers bring their own electric vehicles for people to check out, and so they can share their own experiences of electric driving in Vermont in all seasons. Where can you go and experience all kinds of different electric vehicles in one place? Plus, electric vehicles are just plain fun to drive and cheaper to own! We love helping people move away from fossil fuels, said Tiana Smith, electrification manager at GMP.

Electric vehicles are cheaper to drive than traditional fossil fuel vehicles. You save thousands of dollars over the life of the car because there’s no combustion engine – so there’s less maintenance and much lower ‘fuel’ costs. With GMP’s home charging rates, it’s like paying $1 per gallon for gas. GMP is also offering up to $2,500 in rebates for customers switching from fossil fuels. Savings can be stacked with state rebates of up to $4,000 and federal tax credits of up to $7,500 on select models. Transportation is the biggest source of carbon pollution in Vermont, so switching to an electric vehicle is the best step you can take to reduce carbon, in addition to the money you’ll save.
