New Salvadoran restaurant, Wing Festival and more in Evansville’s kitchen

The 4th Annual Evansville Wing and Music Festival will take place on Saturday, July 24 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Over 40 styles of wings will be served by the Let’s Get Fried food truck in Madisonville, Kentucky; the random fill truck; Pizza and Wings of Lombardi; The Just Pork It Barbecue team and many more, with more goodies like Lemon Shakeups from Hot Diggity Dog, Snowie Bus crushed ice, Tootie’s Kettlecrack and Scott’s Jerky. There will be a bar.
Enjoy a wing-eating contest, ranch and hot sauce, wing hopping, judgments and awards, face painting, tailgate games and more.
Tickets cost $ 10 at the door and include a voucher for a free appetizer at Wings Etc. Children 12 and under enter free. The wings will have a charge. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Vanderburgh County Veterans Council.
The Veterans Memorial Coliseum is located at 300 Court Street.
PetSmart in Evansville will be the venue for a food truck gathering and pet adoption event on Saturday July 24 and Sunday July 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Come eat at Jayson Munoz Caters, Sweetly Baked by Christina, Fat Cat’s Barbecue and Chef Bruce Li and find your new best friend. Not all trucks may be there on both days.

The Pig Out Hog Roast and Jeep Side X Side Show will take place on Saturday, July 24 in downtown Grayville, Illinois, starting at 5 p.m. Jeep registration is 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. There will be a beer and dessert tent near the Grayville Senior Center. Meals are donated and the proceeds will go to the community of Grayville. Award categories for Jeeps include muddiest vehicle, tallest tires, and more. There will be live music and putt-putt golf. Grayville is approximately 45 minutes from Evansville.
Sam’s southern restaurant is now open on South Green Street in Henderson. The chain, which recently opened two popular restaurants in Evansville, specializes in hand-breaded fried fish and shrimp, grilled fish and shrimp, fried chicken, sandwiches and other Southern specialties.
