Pregnant Rihanna surprises West LA veterans
There’s more to Rihanna than hot maternity fashion.
The pregnant pop star stopped by the West Los Angeles Veterans Campus in Brentwood, Calif., on Sunday to visit veterans on the property.
“She was there to really listen to the veterans living on the property. She spent hours listening to their concerns and problems. There was no camera crew or PR – she was genuinely interested and concerned,” a source told Page Six.
Rihanna donned a casual black tracksuit and was spotted with ex-Jaime King activist Sennett Devermont, who posted videos of her with the vets. on Instagram.
“I met Rihanna! The greatest singer on earth. She donated clothes, food and she cares about the veterans,” said an amazed vet.
“U.S. Army vets. U.S. Navy vets. Air Force vets…she cares about all vets. She cares about us and she showed it to us. And she’s going to take care of business” , he added.
Rihanna showed up outside the VA Medical Center – which was once known as a homeless encampment called “Veterans Row” – with a van full of items including sleeping bags, blankets , thermals, flashlights, toilet paper, water, bike locks and mini safes, we are told.
“She really cared. She listened to everyone and distributed everything. She took photos with everyone who asked,” the source said.
The “Umbrella” singer and Fenty Beauty mogul liked the photos Devermont posted from the day.
“Thank you [Rihanna] for shooting with all the love and support and most importantly your ears to listen to veterans,” Devermont wrote on his Mr. Checkpoint Instagram page.
Los Angeles has been working for the past year to homeless veterinary house who lived in Veterans Row.
