Dare County Veterans Day Ceremonies and Celebrations in Hatteras, Kill Devil Hills, Manteo, Nags Head and Southern Shores.
Dare County Veterans Day Celebration

The Virginia S. Tillett Community Center in Manteo will host its annual Veterans Day celebration at noon on Wednesday, November 16, 2022. The event will include a program and visual presentation highlighting our local military members. Entertainment will be provided by The Riff Tides!

If you are a veteran and would like to submit a photo of yourself taken during your days of service, please email it, along with your name, division, and rank, to [email protected] before 5 p.m. on Thursday, November 1. 10, 2022.

Southern Shores Veterans Day Ceremony

The Southern Shores Veterans Day Ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 11, 2022 at the Southern Shores City Hall Flagpole Pavilion, located at 5375 N. Virginia Dare Trail in Southern Shores. The speaker for this year’s ceremony is Tom Copeman, VADM, USN (retired).

Manteo Veterans Day Ceremony

The Veterans Day Ceremony in Manteo will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, November 11, 2022 at the Dare County Veterans Memorial, located at 300 Queen Elizabeth Avenue in downtown Manteo.

Nags Head Veterans Day Ceremony

The Nags Head Veterans Day Ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 11, 2022 at the Nags Head Town Hall, located at 5401 S. Croatan Highway in Nags Head.

Kill Devil Hills Veterans Day Ceremony

The Veterans Day Ceremony in Kill Devil Hills will take place at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, November 11, 2022. The ceremony will take place at the Veterans Memorial, which is located on Veterans Drive in Kill Devil Hills.

Hatteras Island: Cape Hatteras High School Veterans Celebration

Cape Hatteras High School (CHSS), located at 48576 NC Highway 12 in Buxton, will host its annual Veterans Day celebration on Wednesday, November 9, 2022. The event will begin at 9 a.m. in the CHSS cafeteria, where veterans will be served breakfast and have the opportunity to visit each other.

At 10 a.m., veterans will be honored by students, faculty, the CHSS marching band, a guest speaker and community members. The names of recently deceased local veterans will be read and CHSS graduates currently serving in the United States Armed Forces will be recognized.
