Valley Transit Now Offers Free Rides To Veterans Connected To The Service



APPLETON, Wisconsin (WBAY) – Veterans with a military service-related disability can now enjoy a free ride in all Fox Cities.

As of Tuesday, June 1, Valley Transit, which provides public transportation in the Fox Cities, now offers free rides to veterans connected to the service.

In order to obtain the free ride, service-related veterans will need to display their Department of Veterans Affairs service-related ID upon boarding.

Valley Transit provides transportation to Appleton, Buchanan, Grand Chute, Kaukauna, Kimberly, Little Chute, Menasha, Neenah and Fox Crossing.

The service has 18 bus lines.

In addition, Valley Transit provides intercity bus transportation from Appleton to other major cities in Wisconsin. The Lamers Connect bus stops in downtown Valley Transit’s Appleton Transit Center. The transit hub is also a stop for Amtrak’s Thruway bus service, which stops in Milwaukee, where passengers can catch Amtrak rail service to Chicago.
