Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund’s In Memory Program Honors Aledo Veteran – WRMJ.COM

Aledo veteran is among more than 500 Vietnam veterans to be inducted into the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF) In memory Program in 2022. The honor goes to the late Richard Mason Anderson. He served in the Navy and passed away in August 2020.

Since the end of the Vietnam War, thousands of Vietnam veterans have suffered from Agent Orange exposure, PTSD and other illnesses as a result of their service. VVMF believes that everyone who served in Vietnam should be honored and remembered for their service. the In memory The program allows families and friends of those who returned home and later died the opportunity to commemorate them forever.​​​​​​​

On June 18, VVMF will host the 2022 In memory ceremony on the East Mound of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, where the name of each 2022 winner will be read aloud. This year, 513 service members will be honored at the ceremony, including Anderson.

The plaque honoring these veterans was dedicated as part of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Site in 2004. It reads: In memory of the men and women who served in the Vietnam War and who later died as a result of their service. We honor and remember their sacrifice.
